Did you think you were a property manager

Much of the Common Interest Communities CIC manager concepts are framed around the old school model of property managers.

Which if your in the business on managing Condo, Coop or Hoa communities you are an agent of a board of directors that works for the benefit of all the homes in the CIC.

So think property managers work at apartments and commercial real-estate and community managers work for communities.

BTW if you overstep your role and try to act as a property manager in CIC you will get fired by them and some actions may exposure yourself and your company to legal issues.

Welcome to residential community managers

This blogs is decicated to the discussion about what seprates a residential community managers from a property manager.
It a pretty basic difference if you look at the two names.  One is managing a community the other is managing property like a wigit or storage facility.
We believe that this discussion has been happening in communities for the last 10 or more years and for some it goes way back in time to our first communities that were charted as private from the King George of England and for some in the business nothing has changed.

For others that are now long enough in the tooth with regards to management companies and their vital role in many commnities the differance will come down to a few words. Property Managers or Residential Community managers which one do you want in yours.
